The Oklahoma Association of Chiefs of Police is celebrating its thirty fifth anniversary. OACP is your association; the membership provides direction for our goals and programs. We can not accomplish those goals without your participation.
The OACP exists to increase and facilitate the professionalization of policing in Oklahoma. To accomplish this mission, your association works to insure you have the tools to successfully complete your tasks.
Association members and staff spend many hours at the state capital to influence legislation favorable to law enforcement. We also partner with CLEET so that, within limitations of the state budget, your training needs are met. Staff provides surplus equipment for agencies in need.
OACP also presents the opportunity for networking with colleagues to find answers to your policy and other administrative issues from those who have experienced similar challenges.
I encourage you to get involved. Attend the quarterly General Membership meetings. Contact me or other Executive Board members with suggestions or concerns. Be an active participant in improving your ability to serve and protect the citizens of Oklahoma.
